DeNimes linen and cotton rag

This is a 140lb (300gsm) handmade, tub sized, very pale blue-grey, NOT, paper with tiny blue and black fibres as a result of the denim linen content. It is available in 28"x20" sheets (71x51cm). The internal and gelatin surface sizing make it suitable for watercolours and most other artist's media.

Full sheets are slightly smaller than Imperial (30x22ins), and slightly larger than B2 (71x50cm). We cut the full sheets down to half and quarter sizes using a blunt paper-knife. This gives a rough-torn edge that complements the deckle edges ~ we call it cobble-cutting. There is no charge for this service.

Short halves are similar to fat halves ~ made by folding the paper short-edge to short-edge. Long halves are especially useful for bookbinders wishing to make folios.

Two Rivers paper mill call it deNimes after the French town of that name - where the strong, typically blue, material was first made.
