Glue sticks

These handy dispensers contain very similar adhesives across the various brands ~ I am not sure there is much difference between them. Personal preference may play a part ~ but for me economy is the most important. It really pays to shop around before buying.

The important thing to remember about all these glue sticks is that they slowly dry out ~ rapidly if the lid is left off. I have a hunch that a lidless glue stick will dry out overnight in a centrally heated room. For bookbinding I tend not to use glue sticks often, but find them invaluable for use around the house ~ for sticking down the flaps of a weakly glued envelope.

I find a ten gram stick ~ the smallest ~ and least economical to buy ~ lasts me six months or so before drying out too much. The larger sizes would dry out on me before they are fully used ~ and so the smaller sticks are more economical after all.
