Handmade papers ~ Hatakami ~ Khadi ~ Lokta ~ Mitsumata ~ Two Rivers
Handmade papers listed here include ~ Hatakami ~ Khadi ~ Lokta ~ Mitsumata ~ Two Rivers
We are loosely defining "Artists' Papers" as those with a surface prepared for paints or pastels ~ for example ~ tub-sized~ surface-sized ~ rough ~ mould-made ~ cold-pressed ~ NOT~ are typical examples (explained here). Please note that most of our listings are "collect" prices ~ carriage ~ at cost ~ is an extra charge.
Our papers are normally stored in the fullest size available from our suppliers. Posting large sheets can be extremely costly and we are prepared to fold or cut to Royal Mail friendly sizes ~ normally with little or no extra charge. We can also sell ready-made books of various papers ~ and can make them to order at modest cost.
Craftworkers know how to put the advantages of mould ~ or hand-made ~ papers to good use. If you wish to know more about the way the paper behaves, then the best ~ or only ~ way is to get hold of the paper and try it. This will enable you to see for yourself whether it suits. Properties and quality vary with ~ fibres ~ sizing ~ pressing. Artists' techniques also vary widely ~ too great a range for me to list without fear of missing out 'your' favourite.
Prices are invariably high when compared with office papers. Another of the considerable differences.
